GM recalls 4.3m faulty cars, trucks

If you own a GM vehicle from 2014-2017, listen up: General Motors is recalling almost 4.3 million vehicles worldwide after discovering a software defect that prevents air bags from deploying during a crash. During this test, the front air bags would not deploy in the event of a crash.

The company says the fault is rare but can prevent airbags from deploying during a crash.

The vehicles involved in the recall are all from the 2014-2017 model years and include models from Buick, Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac. We feel its strengths outweigh the fact that the company has had generally high debt management risk by most measures that we evaluated. The defective part, which led to the recall of 2.4 million cars, was responsible for more than 120 deaths and hundreds of injuries.

"In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the airbag SDM software to activate a diagnostic test", the NHTSA says.

General Motors announced it was recalling 4.3 million vehicles due to an airbag defect. GM notified Delphi Corp., the supplier that made the module.

Rooney defends England role after win over Slovakia
We kept plugging away and as a unit I thought we did brilliantly. "Today Wayne played wherever he wanted to". I know that if I continue doing what I am doing the goals will come, that is all I can do.

Other models such as the Sierra HD, Yukon XL, and GMC Yukon vehicles, Escalade ESV, and Cadillac Escalade models, Silverado HD, Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe 2015-2017 models, GMC Sierra 1500 series, and Buick Encore 2014-2017 versions were also affected.

The Fix: Dealers will update the software for free.

The recall comes less than a week after the company settled the final two of the six bellwether cases involving GM's faulty ignition switch.

GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson said the automaker is still in discussion with NHTSA about the issue.
