Suspect in beer toss at Jays game charged

After Jays DH Melvin Upton Jr. hit deep to the outfield, Hyun Soo Kim caught the ball when a beer can flew out of the stands from the 100 Level outfield seats and narrowly missed him.

Fake accounts quickly sprouted, including Ken Pagan's Beer and some people made comparisons to Harambe, the Cincinnati Zoo gorilla shot dead after a three-year-old boy climbed into his enclosure. He was later released and is due back in court on November 24.

Toronto police think that they've identified the dude who threw a beer can at a player on Monday during the AL Wild Card game.

But in a report published by the Toronto Sun, which is owned by Postmedia, Pagan suggested police may be wrong.

In the confusion that ensued, Orioles centre fielder Adam Jones said he and Kim were taunted with racial slurs.

Toronto Police have charged a man with mischief for allegedly throwing a beer can toward an outfielder during a Blue Jays playoff game after the high-profile incident ignited a firestorm of disgust as well as questions about investigators' actions in releasing the suspect's photograph. He added there were Twitter photos showing a cup in his hand after the can was thrown.

Toronto police say they are working with officials from the Rogers Centre, where the game was held, to further the investigation.

Postmedia Network spokeswoman Phyllise Gelfand confirmed Pagan is a copy editor for the news organization and said it is conducting an investigation but has not reached conclusions.

Filming for 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' Has Stopped Indefinitely
Although the show has been renewed through 2018, who knows what the family's decision will be after the scary incident. The reality star could reportedly be out up to $1 million every month if she keeps quiet on social media.

Pagan's lawyer was not immediately available for comment.

Pagan's lawyer, Tyler Smith, said his client will wait until court to set the record straight.

Toronto eventually won the game 5-2 on a three-run walk-off home run from Edwin Encarnacion in the 11th inning.

The Blue Jays apologized to the Orioles for the incident and Major League Baseball vowed to tighten security and alcohol policies at its games.

Mayor John Tory called the perpetrator a "loon ball" and the Toronto Sun newspaper announced a $1,000 reward for anyone who could identify him.

A Blue Jays fan also threw a drink at Orioles outfielder Nate McLouth during a game at Rogers Centre in May 2013.

That's about as pathetic as it gets between the lines.

It's not the first time that rowdy behaviour from some Jays fans has caused a stir.
