Authorities to hold press conference regarding missing Abington teenager

Abington Township Police Grace Packer

"It was determined after comparing the dental remains with known missing persons reports entered into national missing persons databases that the identity of the remains was that of Grace Packer", Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie J. Salavantis said.

Grace Packer's mother reported her missing July 11 from her home in Abington Township, Montgomery County.

Her mother, 41-year-old Sarah Packer, is being charged with felony child endangerment, authorities said. Packer also didn't reveal to detectives that the family was moving to Richland, Bucks County, at the time Grace went missing.

Authorities said Thursday that a 14-year-old Montgomery County girl who was reported missing in July was found dead in a wooded area of Luzerne County, and her mother is a person of interest in the investigation surrounding her death.

Authorities have not released a cause of death in the case, citing ongoing investigation. Sarah allegedly told police she would drop a photo off at the station, but never did.

Fred's Pharmacy to buy Rite Aid locations
Fred's operates 647 discount general merchandise stores, with 371 full-service pharmacy departments located within its stores. Regions Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch are set to provide financing for Fred's purchase of the stores.

Her dismembered remains were found October 31 by hunters in Bear Creek Township, Luzerne County, according to WFMZ; they were identified recently as those of the missing teen based on dental records.

Records show that between July 1, 2016 and November, 10 2016, while her daughter was reported missing, Sarah Packer spent more than $3,600 of disability funding intended for Grace.

Sara Packer was held for trial on both charges at a preliminary hearing on November 21.

Sara Packer remains imprisoned at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail. Authorities from Bucks, Montgomery, and Luzerne counties are working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on the case.

The three district attorneys urged anyone who may have seen or encountered Grace Packer and Sara Packer either together or individually at any time since June - especially in public places including retail stores in the Abington and Quakertown areas - to immediately contact investigators at 215-945-3100 or by email at buckscrimetips@buckscounty.org with any information. "Grace Packer was murdered, and we will use all of our joint investigative resources to bring Grace's killer to justice".
