Toddler, man killed, pregnant woman hurt in shooting caught on Facebook Live

The video captured the sporadic emotional aftermath where the woman was heard pleading with the owner of the home and said she did not want to go to the hospital because she could be arrested. Police said the adult male victim was a known gang member. The 12-year old, Kanari Gentry-Bowers, was also shot Saturday and is now in critical condition at Stroger Hospital. Police suspect the shooting was gang related, WGN reports.

The child was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The shooting death of a 2-year-old Chicago boy and a 25-year-old man was streamed live on Facebook on Tuesday - a shockingly public display of the violence that has killed two children in less than a week in that city. "They killed him. I have a bullet in my stomach!" "I can't go; they might take me to jail". Emergency medical personnel were able to revive the boy, for a time, before pronouncing him dead at a nearby hospital.

The woman, 20, and her baby were both listed in fair condition.

The city had 4,000 shooting victims and 762 homicides previous year, according to police statistics. Her boyfriend was believed to be the target of the shooting, Johnson said in a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

Kanari Gentry Bowers, 12, remained in critical condition and on life support Tuesday after another shooting over the weekend. Two-year-old Lavontay White was murdered in Chicago on the afternoon of February 14, later dying on February 15, in a gang-related shooting. On the first day of January alone, 28 people were shot in Chicago, according to data from the Chicago Police Department.

Police are reviewing surveillance video and sources indicate that they have "very good" leads on the case.

"This has got to stop", Chicago Police Supt.

"They just don't fear it, and until we create that mental accountability to them to not pick up a gun, we're going to continue to see this cycle of violence", Mr Johnson said.
