Maxine Waters Calls Out Fox News As A 'Sexual Harassment Enterprise'

Bill O'Reilly attends The Hollywood Reporter's

President Donald Trump on Wednesday supported Fox News host, Bill O'Reilly over his alleged sexual harassment scandal.

The Times report was published online on Saturday - and O'Reilly has hosted two programs since the disclosures that numerous sexual harassment claims had been settled, including some within the a year ago.

Amid the furor, Trump praised O'Reilly during an interview Wednesday with the New York Times, calling him a "good person" who "shouldn't have settled" with his accusers.

During the March 28 episode of "Fox & Friends", O'Reilly responded to a clip of Waters talking about Trump by saying, "I didn't hear a word she said". Because you should have taken it all the way. I think he shouldn't have settled.

Fox continues to lose advertisers as sexual harassment claims against TV personality Bill O'Reilly escalate.

It could be deeply embedded in her character or maybe her genes, but by now the American people should know Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) is incapable of biting her tongue when it comes to Donald Trump and his administration.

"Since Monday night, more than 40 companies that advertise with Fox News have announced they're splitting from the show", HuffPo reported.

This flurry of negative stories is also playing out against the backdrop of a federal investigation into how 21st Century Fox disclosed settlements to various women alleging sexual harassment.

Mr Trump himself has been the subject of claims of inappropriate behaviour, with several women coming forward during the presidential election campaign to claim he sexually assaulted them - claims the billionaire repeatedly denied.

"I feel like President Trump is making our entire country a hostile environment for working women", asserted Lisa Bloom, attorney for Wendy Walsh, a former Fox News guest and one of O'Reilly's accusers.

Spin has failed since The New York Times exposed the $13 million Fox News has paid in settlements to female ex-staffers allegedly harassed by the 67-year-old news host. She's supposed to be the one that's standing up for women. In fact, not only have "The O'Reilly Factor" ratings not suffered; they're actually on the rise.
