Ohio Police Officer Nearly Dies After Accidental Overdose

The drug can be absorbed through the skin, and Green passed out an hour later.

According to the police report, East Liverpool Police blocked in a blue Monte Carlo after watching 25-year-old Justin Buckle allegedly perform a drug transaction with Cortez Collins, 24, the car's passenger at the bottom of Lisbon Street at West 8th Street.

That's when Green noticed there was white powder on the auto seat and floor, as well as on Buckle and another passenger's shoes and clothing, East Liverpool Captain Patrick Wright said.

"Officer Green does a great job, and it was just a freak accident that he just accidentally bumped up against something while he was searching this vehicle, and for him to drop out like that is shocking", said Captain Patrick Wright with the East Liverpool Police Department.

Officer Christopher Green said he wanted to get back to work as soon as possible following the incident when he came in contact with fentanyl.

Green was fine by May 14, WKBN says. Green's fellow cops gave him a dose in nasal spray form and took him to the hospital, where doctors were reportedly forced to administer three more doses to get him totally recovered. Police are cracking down, but that means they are also opening themselves up for danger.

"I started talking weird".

North Korea's ICBMs have 'important shortfalls,' Pentagon says
For the Trump Administration, facing a question whether to increase the USA troop levels in Afghanistan , this can't be good news. Iran is working on development of an intercontinental ballistic missile that could carry nuclear weapons.

After the confrontation, Green began feeling dizzy, WMFJ reports. Because opioids like fentanyl and carfentanil are so potent and so deadly, Lane said he'd like to see the transport and sale of them to be a considered a stronger crime. The suspects initially told police the powder was cocaine, but later confirmed it was fentanyl.

"They're sitting there talking, decompressing. and someone said to him, 'You got something on your shirt.' He brushed it off and they went back to talking", Lane said.

The officer is expected to be alright.

"For respiratory protection, I don't believe it is either practical or necessary for police to wear masks for every contact with the public", Pickett said.

"I remember seeing my chief, and colleagues, and my fiancée was balling her eyes out and I knew something bad just happened", Green said. These people have no regard for anybody, not themselves, not the police, not their kids, " Lane said. Officers found the suspects trying to destroy the drug evidence.

One of the reasons is an apparent rise in the illegal use of the powerful painkiller fentanyl.

Buckel, the suspect in the East Liverpool case, was arrested and faces felony drug charges.
