Shadow Brokers Planning To Cause Extra Damage With More Zero-Day Bugs

Seemingly capitalizing on the success of WannaCry ransomware, which used EternalBlue and DoublePulsar - tools developed by the NSA's Equation Group - the Shadow Brokers want to sell new exploits every month to people who pay a membership fee.

This EternalBlue vulnerability was actually first discovered by the United States security agency NSA, but the agency's hacking arsenal was stolen by the Shadow Brokers, and now the hacker group responsible for this theft has written a blogpost.

While the EternalBlue exploit did not affect Windows 10, the group said "newer exploits for Windows 10" could be provided, as well as "compromised network data" from worldwide financial systems and foreign nuclear and missile programmes.

The Shadow Brokers member further says that Redmond is upset due to the bad PR surrounding the global shutdown caused by the WannaCry ransomware, which affected 2 lakh Windows PCs in around 150 countries. Cisco, Juniper, Intel, Microsoft, Symantec, Google, Apple, FireEye, any other bullshit security companies didn't buy lost warez.

It also caused a public statement from Microsoft attacking the USA government for stockpiling software exploits, arguing: "An equivalent scenario with conventional weapons would be the USA military having some of its Tomahawk missiles stolen".

While the motives of the Shadow Brokers remains unknown, it claimed that it wasn't interested in the bug bounties paid by software firms for vulnerabilities found in their code or selling to "cyber thugs".

Hackers obtain upcoming 'Pirates of the Carribbean' film
The hackers have however threatened to release increasingly longer pieces of the movie online if they aren't paid. Hackers leaked episodes of the new season after Netflix refused to meet their demands.

The Shadow Brokers' first dump of exploits in August sparked a robust discussion within the Obama administration.

Its warning allowed Microsoft to fix the issue with a patch that was issued in March, weeks before The Shadow Brokers leaked EternalBlue online. Microsoft has connected previous exploits of its products released by the mysterious Shadow Brokers group to tools which were stolen from NSA cyber warfare operations. Because why not? TheShadowBrokers is having many more where coming from? This is always being about theshadowbrokers vs theequationgroup.

The group goes on to claim that it has spies inside Microsoft among other U.S. technology companies and says it plans to sell off new exploits every month from June onwards.

"NSA identified a risk and communicated it to Microsoft, who put out an immediate patch", Mike McNerney, a former Pentagon cybersecurity official and a fellow at the Truman National Security Project, told The Washington Post. "They claim they still have zero-days". "Is being very odd behavior for crimeware?"

"It's being like wine of month club", said the blog post, which is written in broken English.
