The Uber driver was attacked minutes after he had picked Ms Wasni up from a Walmart store, prosecutors said.

Wasni is said to have taken two other Uber rides on the day of the alleged offence - the second was to the Walmart in Lincolnwood, just outside Chicago.

Prosecutors during a bond hearing Wednesday described the attack as "heinous" and "not provoked in any manner".

"Help me, help me".

While Nelson bled out in the condo lobby, prosecutors say, Wasni took off in his auto, immediately crashed into a median, and fled on foot.

After having struck Nelson the man ran to a nearby building banging for help with the teen drove off with the man's vehicle before soon crashing into a median strip. He went into the lobby while "banging and screaming, 'Help me, help me, I'm going to die'".

Wasni climbed into the front seat of Nelson's silver sedan and drove away before striking a central reservation in the road.

China's Li: fighting climate change is 'global consensus'
Other European leaders issued more explicit appeals to the US government not to abandon worldwide measures against climate change. Mr Li said he believed the two had found a solution on the issue of Chinese quotas for electric cars after a lengthy discussion.

The teenager tried to escape in Nelson's vehicle however; she hit a median and then left the auto and ran on foot.

Police say Eliza was unresponsive when they found her in hiding, blood splattered across her shirt and still gripping the weapons. When police came, Nelson was lying on the ground covered in his blood. He was bleeding profusely from several wounds but was able to tell officers what happened and described his assailant.

Police said the driver then pulled the auto over and fled into a nearby building, where he started pushing buzzers and yelling that he was "going to die".

Wasni says on her Facebook page, "I will always be myself". He never hurt anyone. The Tribune also reports that Nelson's family has asked that those wishing to remember his life to donate to the Anti-Cruelty Society and the Cook County North Suburban chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

"We are heartbroken by the loss of one of our partners, Grant Nelson". When she wouldn't drop the weapons at the officers' requests, one of the officers tazed her and she was taken into custody.

Wasni, who has no previous criminal record, goes to school at Taft on the city's Northwest Side and lives with her single mother, Assistant Public Defender David McMahon told a judge during Wednesday's arraignment.

"The family is really hurting", she said.

According to prosecutors, police recovered a shirt the girl could be seen wearing in the Walmart.
