A Turkish military helicopter crashed three minutes after takeoff on Wednesday evening, killing 13 personnel, the Turkish military said.

Devlet Bahceli, leader of the Turkish opposition Nationalist Movement Party, urged to thoroughly investigate the crash of the Cougar military helicopter in Turkey's south-eastern Sirnak province, the party said June 2.

In a statement, the army said the AS 532 Cougar had crashed shortly after taking off around 1855 GMT on Wednesday.
