Sen. Ben Cardin: Trump Sent 'Wrong Message' With Travel Ban Tweets

The hand-knotted carpet in the main prayer hall that took eight months to design and two years to complete

US President Donald Trump has defended his executive order banning most travellers from six Muslim-majority nations and criticised his own administration's revisions to the policy to address legal challenges.

But the lower courts also rejected the Trump administration's second attempt to ban travelers from six predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States for 90 days.

In early-morning tweets, Trump emphatically said he wants a travel ban, a reference to his proposal to bar visitors to the USA from a handful of Muslim-majority countries.

Trump tweeted early Monday morning. In a string of tweets, Trump lamented that the Justice Department had sent a "watered down, politically correct version" of the order in the appeal to the Supreme Court.

In addition, the president also called the revised travel ban 'watered down, ' criticized the tactics of his Justice Department, and stated that "EXTREME VETTING" was taking place.

President Trump has previously used the phrase "watered down" to describe his revised executive order. That's the lawyer who represents the president at the Supreme Court.

Putin urges US business to help normalize Russia-US ties
Although Putin has claimed that climate change is not man-made, Russian Federation is a party to the Paris accord. Kislyak's meetings with members of Trump's team have been a focus of the congressional investigation.

He also states that regardless of the decision of the supreme court, there would be EXTREME VETTING of people coming into the U.S. He also criticises the court for being too slow and political. Just as Trump's Justice Department is arguing the ban doesn't target Muslims, legal experts said the president seems to be suggesting the opposite.

Last week, the Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to allow the ban after lower courts rebuked his national security justifications for the ban multiple times. In the most recent ruling from the 4th Circuit, for example, the court described Trump's ban as "an Executive Order that in text speaks with vague words of national security, but in context drips with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination".

The initial travel ban was put in place on January 27 and was supposed to be in effect for 90 days while the USA accessed its borders.

George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, retweeted one of Trump's Monday messages and wrote, "These tweets may make some ppl feel better, but they certainly won't help OSG get 5 votes in SCOTUS, which is what actually matters".

Conservatives meanwhile were warning the tweets could undermine the administration's legal case.

US President Donald Trump has once again taken aim at the mayor of London over his response to Saturday's terror attack that took the lives of seven people. Trump begrudgingly scaled back the order by removing Iraq from the list and making the Syria refugee ban only temporary, but that order was blocked by the courts, too.
