Wildlife presentation at next Summer Reading Program Performance

The more books read, the better a participant's chance of winning prizes.

The Adult Summer Reading Challenge allows adults to enter to win one of eight weekly prizes every time they read a book or attend an adult program.

Sign-ups began June 6 and will continue through the end of the program on August 8.

The Rancho Santa Fe Library held a party on the patio June 1 to jumpstart the 2017 Summer Reading Program.

Once again, participants will be able to use "Beanstack", the BCLS online tracking system, to log their reading progress, explore books lists, and access activity guides customized for each age group and created to encourage learning, curiosity and fun. Thursdays. Registration is required and space is limited.

People ages 13-18 can sign up online for the Teen Summer Reading Challenge.

This year's theme is "Build a Better World" and, as always, the Challenge is not just about reading, it's about discovering, creating, doing and volunteering.

It can't be stressed enough - children who read, succeed.

Prizes will be offered for reading, as well as a number of fun and free activities hosted throughout the summer, including puppet shows, art classes, and science presentations.
