Apple Takes On Distracted Driving With New Feature

Among the new features of iOS 11 is the ability to make person-to-person payments through Apple's messaging app, thanks to new integration with the Apple Pay system.

For some reason this was a feature that was not mentioned during the iOS 11 announcement but was later discovered during the beta of the software.

Although Apple's new Do Not Disturb function is unlikely to solve automotive fatalities or accidents stemming from cellphone distraction, the feature's introduction does show that the company is paying attention to what's happening on our roads, unlike too many drivers.

But Apple kept a couple of details on the down low - one of which is a new "dark mode" in iOS 11.

Some of the new features aren't available in the beta version, such as the augmented reality experiences.

Apple on Monday treated developers and audiences around the world to a sneak peek of its next generation mobile operating system.

Apple also introduced a new version of its business-oriented iPad Pro at an intermediate size with more storage, a better display and an improved camera.

Gorilla gives birth with help from doctors who treat people
Ayana, a Western lowland gorilla , was born in the early hours of April 22 to mother Touni and silverback gorilla father Jock. After having gone into labour on Thursday, zoo staff sought assistance when it became clear the Kira was having difficulty.

There's a lot more, of course, in iOS 11 than what's even on this slide. Apple's A7, which debuted in the iPhone 5S in 2013, was the first Apple mobile device to utilize a 64-bit processor (such has been the case for all subsequent launches as well).

As of iOS 11, the Apple App Store will receive a major redesign, which focuses on easier navigation of the app marketplace.

In a somewhat un-Apple-like manner, you're not restricted to iCloud Drive either.

Rod Hall, an analyst at J.P. Morgan, noted that the new iOS features for iPad, which include a customizable dock, a desktop-like file management system, and enhanced multi-tasking capabilities, move the iPad "a little closer" to a full laptop replacement option. Apple also detailed that developers can expect faster review times for applications, as well as a new phased releases feature, which will allow developers to trickle out updates to gauge user feedback, before a widespread rollout.

iOS 9.3 was Apple's first try in solving this issue.

With iOS 11, you can really do everything with your iPhone or iPad.
