Clinging on to her job, Britain's May appoints new ministers

"She's staying, for now", a party source told Reuters.

A petition against British Prime Minister Theresa May's deal with the ultra-conservative Democratic Unionist Party garnered almost 600,000 signatures today as concern grew over her plan to govern with their support. A senior Conservative lawmaker, Gavin Williamson, was in Belfast for talks with the party on Saturday, a spokeswoman for May's office said.

But in one of the most sensational nights in British electoral history, a resurgent Labour Party denied her an outright win, throwing the country into political turmoil.

The election result leaves Westminster in chaos with just 10 days before the Brexit negotiations are due to begin.

In a tweet, Barnier said: "Timetable and European Union positions are clear".

"We are ready to do everything we can to put our programme into operation, there isn't a parliamentary majority for anybody at the present time, the party that has lost in this election is the Conservative Party, the arguments the Conservative Party put forward in this election have lost".

"I have just been to see Her Majesty the Queen and I will now form a government".

But May, facing scorn for running a lackluster campaign, was determined to hang on.

Meanwhile, Labour Party which stands next to the Conservatives has ruled out a coalation but instead said it would attempt for a minority government.

Despite facing heavy pressure over her own position, May is now seeking an arrangement with the DUP, which would allow her to form a government, according to reports.

Many DUP members, including the chair of its Education Committee, Mervyn Story, belong to the Caleb Foundation, the leading creationist lobby group in Northern Ireland.

Comey expected to refute Trump
Republicans will be interested in whether he faced any pressure under the Obama administration to let Clinton off the hook. Rollins and others with Great America say they plan to stand up for Trump in cable appearances Thursday.

She said: "I certainly think that there will be contact made over the weekend but I think it's too soon to talk about what we're going to do".

"Negotiations on our exit from the European Union are about to commence, and we now face uncertainty at Westminster". Colleagues who I have worked with, colleagues who have contributed much to our country and I felt that they did not deserve to lose their seats.

"I could not care less what people get up to in terms of their sexuality".

"I have always believed we are stronger when we appeal to the middle ground".

"With a weak negotiating partner, there's a danger the negotiations will turn out badly".

"We must ensure that the Brexit talks are handled in a smooth and coherent manner to secure the best possible outcome for Ireland, for Europe and the United Kingdom", he said. The result ended his career and shocked Europe.

"The Conservatives have not yet broken the British system of democracy, but through their hubris and incompetence they have managed to make a mockery of it", it said in an editorial.

Mrs May was working on a Cabinet reshuffle, expected to be limited in extent as the election result means she can not afford to have disgruntled former ministers sniping at her from the backbenches.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn called on May to resign last night telling the BBC she should "make way".

In the late stages of the campaign, Britain was hit by two Islamist militant attacks that killed 30 people in Manchester and London, temporarily shifting the focus onto security issues.

End.30/1/2017. British Prime Minister Theresa May, at a joint press conference with Taoiseach Enda Kenny after their meeting at Government Buildings in Dublin, to discuss Brexit and its implications for Ireland.
