British PM May faces mounting criticism over London tower block blaze

Grenfell Tower on fire

It was the latest expression of anger in the community following the fire that raged through Grenfell Tower where the death toll could exceed more than 100.

British Prime Minister Theresa May is promising a comprehensive package of help for victims of the devastating fire at a west London apartment building. Some in the crowd shouted "coward" at her, according to the BBC.

The upper floors of Grenfell Tower sustained significant damage, he says, and "the sad reality is that this work will take some time, stretching into many, many weeks".

The representative said the group had spoken with Mrs May about their "demands and what we expect".

Theresa May is "distraught" by the Grenfell Tower block fire, her most senior minister has said ahead of a meeting with survivors of the disaster at Downing Street.

Activists and local residents held demonstrations at the borough's town hall, London's Oxford Street, the United Kingdom home office, the BBC, and the prime minister's official residence at Number 10 Downing Street to vent their frustrations.

She declined to speak to anyone outside the meeting where an angry crowd had gathered and police broke up a scuffle among the group as Mrs May's vehicle drove off.

May on Friday visited some of the rescued undergoing treatment in Kensington and Chelsea Hospital.

During Obama's tenure, U.S. carbon emissions decreased while the economy strengthened, and both GDP and employment increased. In fact, the final text doesn't say the Paris accord is the only tool for tackling climate change. - Rep.

Queen Elizabeth received an altogether different welcome when she visited residents, volunteers and emergency services at the Westway Sports Centre, which has become a hub for the relief effort.

"At this stage the Met can confirm that, following initial reports from specialist investigators and experts who have examined the flat where the fire started, there is nothing to suggest the fire was started deliberately", Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy said.

Police said on Thursday that they had launched a criminal investigation into the fire. Dozens were also injured in the fire, including 12 who remain in critical condition.

"The scale of this tragedy is clearly proving too much for the local authority to cope with on their own", Mr Khan said in an open letter to Ms May. "Actually, we want the response to be as fast as possible".

Friends and families of victims, including a furious seven-year-old, asked: "How many children died?"

"We were looking for her to say that she is here with the community", Simon McDonald, who grew up in the area, told the Guardian.

Syrian refugee Mohammed Alhajali, 23, was also killed in the fire. "I mourn the tragic loss of a wonderful young woman".
