Greater Noida gangrape: UP Govt. assures help to Haryana

A 35-year-old woman from Rajasthan was allegedly gang-raped by 3 men in a moving auto in Gurugram and was later dumped onto a road in Greater Noida on Tuesday morning. "We are assisting Noida police and are investigating the matter", said Gurgugram Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar. They then took turns to rape her in the moving vehicle while heading to Najafgarh in the national capital, 20 kms from here, a senior police officer told PTI quoting the victim's statement.

Reportedly, the incident took place when the women was abducted by some men from Sohna Road in Gurgaon in the evening around 08:30 PM and forcibly taken into Maruti Swift.

Sexual violence has been a focus of public attention in India since the gang-rape and murder of a student in New Delhi in 2012.

Few hours after a woman was gang raped in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida, two policemen were caught taking nap in a PCR van instead of catching the culprits. The police took the rape survivor for a medical examination. "Some beer bottles were also found from the spot which indicates that the accused persons were inebriated at the time", a police officer said.

H&M May sales rise 4%

According to NDTV, the woman had arrived in the city a few weeks ago.

The woman told the police that she originally hailed from Bharatpur in Rajasthan.

"We reached the spot and found the woman lying unconcious". A team of Greater Noida police brought the victim to Sector 29 police station in Gurgaon.

'The police teams are examining the CCTV footage of roads to ascertain the identity of the accused and car's registration number'. The Police have registered a case and have begun its investigations.
