Maxine Waters hits Trump over comments to police

Trump Wants Police Officers To Be MORE Violent To 'Thugs'!

Trump made the comments at a gathering of law enforcement officers at Suffolk County Community College in NY.

The Daily Caller reports that while speaking about violent gang-members in a speech to law enforcement officers that focused on MS-13, Trump said officers shouldn't be "too nice" when putting violent criminals in the "paddy wagon".

"Your Second Amendment is safe", Trump said. I said, "You can take the hand away, OK?"'

President Donald Trump's speech at Long Island Suffolk County Community College has been met with extremely polarized responses.

"The SCPD has strict rules & procedures relating to the handling of prisoners", wrote the Suffolk County PD on Twitter.

Trump had been addressing law enforcement officials in Brentwood, New York, on Friday when he departed from remarks on his administration's efforts to dismantle the street gang MS-13, and began discussing the way officers lead suspects into police vehicles.

Ben Tobias, a spokesman for the police department in Gainesville, Florida, also criticized the president's remarks.

"Like, don't hit their head, and they just killed somebody - don't hit their head", Trump continued.

RS elections: Amit Shah, Smriti Irani, Balwantsinh Rajput file nomination papers
Balwantsinh Rajput, MLA from Siddhpur and Chief Whip of the party, Tejashree Patel from Viramgam, and Vijapur legislator P.I. It was alleged that Scheduled Tribe Congress MLA Punabhai Gamit, a three-time legislator, was being threatened and lured.

Some police leaders anxious that three sentences uttered by the president during a Long Island speech could upend almost three decades of fence-mending since the 1991 Los Angeles Police Department beating of Rodney King ushered in an era of distrust of police.

I think he is doing our nation a disservice by encouraging police departments to engage in unlawful, unconstitutional behaviour.

As he talked to the cops, the president could have centered his address on reforming the law enforcement, bringing in sophisticated training to make police departments more empathetic and humane forces.

Police departments across the United States have been accused countless times over the years of using excessive force against suspected criminals, particularly when those suspects are black.

President Trump was in NY to discuss his campaign to crack down on gangs like MS-13. "As a police department we are committed to helping people, not harming them", Evans said.

Trump's visit to his home state of NY came as Sessions was in El Salvador to increase global cooperation against the gang.

In New York City, the president's comment and the reaction from the crowd recalled the days of former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, who was accused at times of ignoring inappropriate behavior by the police.

On Saturday, police forces and the worldwide association of police chiefs criticized the president. A federal judge approved the agreement in April, requiring city police to limit how and when they can engage suspects, to better train officers on how to interact with residents, and to enhance civilian oversight and transparency.
