Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in Kulgam J&K

Two militants of Hizb ul Mujahideen outfit were killed in the encounter, tweeted DGP Sp Vaid.

Soldiers and special police forces surrounded a neighbourhood in Khudwani, a village in the south of Indian-administered Kashmir, after a tip-off about the presence of militants.

Security forces killed two terrorists in an encounter in Kulgam district while the third militants surrendered. The slain terrorists were identified as Dawood Ahmad Allaie, son of late Abdul Hamid resident of Hawoora and Sayar Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Wanpora, Qaimoh of Kulgam district. An AK 47 rifle and Insas rifle have also been recovered.

Later at a press meet, Army, J&K Police and CRPF made a joint appeal to militants to surrender, announcing that officers who would motivate militants to drop arms would be rewarded. The arrested terrorist has been identified as Arief Sofi.

In past three days, security forces have killed five local militants. "The fire was retaliated by the forces, leading to a gunfight", he said.

Mobile and Internet services have been suspended in Kulgam and Islamabad districts immediately after the killing of youth by Indian army.
