ESPN calls Jemele Hill's Trump comments 'inappropriate'

ESPN's Jemele Hill Gets Off Light After Nasty Race-Laden Anti-Trump Tweets

A few days back, Hill tweeted about Donald Trump, calling him a white supremacist, and that struck a nerve with the Worldwide Leader In Sports.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday she thinks a controversial tweet from "SportsCenter" host Jemele Hill, in which the ESPN star called Trump a white supremacist, is a "fireable offense".

Also, "Trump is the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime".

"She didn't get fired [because] disney and ESPN are fine w/liberal racism vs conservative logic".

ESPN released a statement saying her tweets do not represent the network's perspective and that Hill recognizes her actions were inappropriate.

But by not disciplining Hill - at least publicly - nor supporting her, the sides have dug in against Bristol.

Jemele Hill's Twitter feed has been noticeably quiet but she did respond to some of the haters who tried to come for her with her usual expert with. "I couldn't, because I cared about more than just myself". ESPN caved despite, you know, plenty of white guys also being auctioned off in a fantasy football context.

Other ESPN hosts and personalities have addressed politics and race in recent weeks, including after the deadly attack and protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, in August.

ESPN is hardly without conservative representation. "There's even a fear of putting Fox News on a TV [in the office]". Cord-cutting and unbundling has had an impact, no doubt. He has a theory for why the Connecticut-based sports network has turned to the left.

"That is definitely a percentage of it", Cohn said in April on New York radio show "Bernie and Sid" if viewers were tuning out because of politics, according to the New York Post.

Hill's comments drew pushback from some social media users and were met with a rebuttal from her own network.

The network issued a statement saying she'd been given a talking to, but there appears to be no meaningful disciplinary action to date. However, she claims that she was reprimanded by ESPN executives for favoring right-leaning tweets while she worked there.

The answer to that is a slam-dunk.
