Elon Musk tweets video of SpaceX landing bloopers

SpaceX rocket explosion

The video kicks off with John Sousa's "The Liberty Bell", better known as the theme to the classic comedy show "Monty Python's Flying Circus".

While SpaceX has had a string of successes landing its Falcon 9 rockets on floating barges in the ocean and on land, the private space company has had its share of failures as well.

The previously unreleased footage provides insight into each of the failed attempts - which include engine sensor failure, running out of liquid oxygen, running out of hydraulic fluid and damaged landing legs.

SpaceX's CEO and CTO Elon Musk also posted the compilation video to his Instagram account.

Another failed landing is captioned: "Well, technically, it did land... just not in one piece". Then, if landing on land, it would flip around then light its engines again, to perform a "boost-back burn" sending the rocket back to Cape Canaveral, guided by Global Positioning System.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson out for rest of season
The team announced that Jimmy Nelson's shoulder will sideline him for the remainder of 2017. Yet, here they are, playing meaningful games with September's chill in the air.

The video ends with the first successful pad landing and first successful droneship landing so we don't finish with a bad taste in our mouths.

A SpaceX unmanned Falcon rocket launches from Florida's Kennedy Space Center, Sept. 7, 2017. A couple of weeks ago, the company revealed that it had successfully tested the first-stage booster for the Falcon Heavy.

While the video highlights the unsuccessful attempts, that's not to say that SpaceX hasn't made any successful landings. The landing of flight 23 resulted in the first stable FULL landing at sea in April of 2016.

Since its first successful landing in December 2015, SpaceX has only crashed three of the rockets that it meant to land.
