'Narcos' location scout found riddled with bullets in Mexico

Netflix

Variety reports that Carlos Muñoz Portal was scouting for the upcoming season of the Netflix cartel drama Narcos in central Mexico when he was shot multiple times. The area of the country in which his corpse was found is considered to have one of world's highest murder rates.

More broadly, though, Narcos was reportedly set to focus season four on Mexico's infamous Juarez cartel - and the fact that Munoz Portal was killed in that area and found "bullet-riddled" in his auto may speak for itself as far as who's responsible for the violence.

Narcos, which has dealt with Columbian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar, was going to set season 4 in Mexico and feature the Juarez cartel.

Carlos Muñoz Portal was scouting locations for season four of the popular Netflix series when he was shot to death.

After waiting in line for hours, man offers last generator to stranger
Store managers said they're unsure if they'll receive another shipment of generators since each store in the state needs more. Brekke said her father is on oxygen, and that she was concerned that Hurricane Irma could knock out power in her home.

The Mexican Institute of Cinematography (Imcine) issued a statement mourning Munoz's death.

He had worked in the entertainment industry as a locations manager for more than 10 years, including jobs on "Apocalypto" and "Specter", which filmed in Zocalo, Mexico. While there are no concrete details as to the backstory behind the man's murder, sources are saying that local authorities continue to gather information concerning the details of the homicide.

Netflix confirmed his passing to the Daily News.

Police have said they are having difficulty investigating the circumstances of the death, as there is a lack of witnesses due to the area's sparse population.
