Francia Raisa shows off post surgery scars

Gomez has also been spotted out and about, resuming normal day-to-day activities with her new dog, Charlie.

The outing came just days after Selena's confidante, actress Francia Raisa - who donated a kidney to Gomez - took to Instagram to declare she's 'happy to be back, ' along with a clip documenting a workout she had.

In a report by E!

The pair considers each other family and Francia has been there for Selena throughout the hard times in her life, including her recent kidney transplant.

Raisa and Gomez became friends in 2008 when they met at a charity event sponsored by Disney and its network, ABC. Teefey described feeling powerless over her daughter's medical condition and switching into "Mama Bear" mode while Gomez awaited surgery.

Nurses removed from duty investigated over 'sick' pictures with newborn babies
The Snapchat post also showed the woman and her colleague allegedly make a baby "dance" by holding it under the armpits. The two nurses were dismissed from their jobs after a whistle blower alerted the hospital to the posts.

"Happy to be back", wrote Raisa.

On September 21, the actress shared a video of herself working out at a gym in a pair of leggings and a sports bra. Since her lupus diagnosis in 2014, Gomez has undergone chemotherapy and ducked out of the spotlight to focus on her health, along with having the transplant.

The actor is seen doing some strength training and lifting weights as she intends to get back to her previous level of fitness.

These battle scars are a constant reminder of their forever bond and of the fact that these two really are family now, which Francia touched upon when she shared her own message about her surgery on Instagram. The star has expressed her delight at being back at the gym by captioning her photographs as such.

Bless her, Gomez has made a slight factual error here: the ultimate gift is, in fact, a boxed 1986 Sindy Ballerina, blonde, with moveable joints.
