Person wanted for questioning in attack found

MANHATTAN SHOOTING

Prior to a Wednesday evening press conference, the Federal Bureau of Investigation released the person's name as Mukhammadzoir Kadirov of Uzbekistan, born November 5, 1984.

U.S. law enforcement officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, separately on Wednesday said Saipov had been in contact with Kadirov and one other person.

"We have found him and I'll leave it at that", said William Sweeney, head of the New York FBI office.

On Thursday, Kadirov released a statement to The Associated Press through a source in touch with his family. According to NBC, it's not clear if Kadirov was aware of Saipov's terror plot, but authorities have said "there is nothing that indicates he may have been involved in the attack".

According to the Washington Post, Kadirov and his attorney are cooperating with law enforcement in New Jersey.
