Tennessee Coaching Rumors Roundup: Butch Jones Buyout, Jon Gruden, and More

Tennessee Vols set to take on potent Missouri offense in their final regular-season road contest of season

It took longer than most expected, but Butch Jones is out as Tennessee's coach.

Volunteers athletic director John Currie told Jones on Sunday morning that he was being fired with two games left in the regular season. Tennessee lost to Mizzou last night 50-17. An inexplicable loss at SC previous year ruined Tennessee's division title hopes.

ESPN's Chris Low reported that Brady Joke, former Ball State, San Diego State and MI head coach, will be the interim coach for the Vols.

Dooley, Johnny Majors, Doug Dickey and Bowden Wyatt are the only Tennessee coaches to endure one-win conference campaigns. That Tennessee is already bleeding pledges speaks to Jones' one universally agreed upon positive - his ability to connect with young men in the living room.

Google Pixel 2 XL owners are complaining about yet another problem
With reports across both the Google Product Forums and Reddit , this may not be universal, but it's also far from isolated. Now, we don't know exactly why the mics are behaving like this, it is probably due to some hardware issue.

This is Jones' fifth season on the job and shaping up to be his worst since he went 5-7 upon taking over in 2013.

Jones was just 3-9 in his past 12 SEC games dating to last season. Tennessee was picked to win the East a year ago but stumbled after a 5-0 start. He has head coaching experience at Michigan, San Diego State and Ball State. And now, the football program is looking for its fourth head coach in nine years.

"An exhaustive search is underway for a person of the highest integrity and character with the skills and vision to propel Tennessee to championships". Including that game, Missouri scored the game's final 33 points, further humiliating a program in distress.

Tennessee has never had a winless SEC record in 121 years playing football, but must beat LSU and Vanderbilt to prevent that from happening.
