Ezekiel Elliott I GIVE UP!! Withdraws Appeal, Will Serve 6-Game Suspension

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will halt the appeals process and serve his full six-game suspension.

Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott announced Wednesday he will no longer appeal his six-game suspension, which will end just in time for a game against the Seahawks on December 24. His suspension began in Week 10, when the Cowboys lost a 27-7 road game against the Atlanta Falcons. He'll miss this weekend's tilt with the Eagles, the Thanksgiving Day game with the Chargers, primetime games with both the Redskins and Raiders, and a divisional matchup in New Jersey against the Giants before returning on Christmas Eve against the Seahawks.

Authorities in Columbus never filed charges, but the NFL suspended Elliott after a yearlong investigation for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

The announcement was made Wednesday in a statement shared by Rocky Arceneaux and Frank Salzano, Elliott's agents. "Mr. Elliott's desire for closure in this matter is in his best interest, as well as the best interests of his teammates, family and friends".

The decision means Elliott will serve out the remaining five games of his six-game suspension.

The suspension came after the National Football League investigated his alleged use of force in the summer of 2016 against his girlfriend. Elliott, 22, was never charged and has denied wrongdoing.

Several post-18 colleges are located on the campus, including the International Institute of Trade and Development. La Dépêche du Midi newspaper quoted him as telling police he had heard voices telling him to harm someone.

The odds were long that Elliott would win, following the Second Circuit Court of Appeals failing to grant an injunction which would have allowed him to continue playing through the appeal process.

That lawsuit accused Friel of withholding from Goodell the word of co-lead investigator Kia Roberts, who the suit says concluded that the accuser wasn't credible and that discipline wasn't warranted.

The second-year running back is reportedly spending his suspension out of the country to "clear his head".

The Cowboys' second game against the Philadelphia Eagles is set for the following week, on December 31, in the final week of the regular season.

The Dallas Cowboys star had been fighting like hell in court.
