Aww: Apple won't be HomePod for Christmas

A prototype Apple Home Pod is seen during the annual Apple Worldwide Developer Conference in San Jose California

Apple has forecast between US$84 billion and US$87 billion in revenue for the holiday - mostly driven by sales of its US$999 iPhone X - so it's unlikely that missing a few weeks of sales of its US$349 speaker will affect its financial results, Bob O'Donnell, founder of Technalysis Research, said. The cost of the speakers was set to $349.

In their statement given to The Verge the Apple spokesperson said, "We can't wait for people to experience HomePod, Apple's breakthrough wireless speaker for the home, but we need a little more time before it's ready for our customers".

But voice control is created to work only with Apple Music, the company's $10 a month subscription service.

The speaker is cylindrical in shape, just like the Amazon Echo, but the HomePod features an array of seven speaker tweeters, six microphone array, and a four-inch subwoofer. The HomePod was created to compete with their counterparts like Sonos, Google Home, and Amazon Echo. With HomePod, Siri would stop being only on iOS devices and Mac OS computers and would be much more present in people's lives through other devices.

"We'll start shipping in the US, UK and Australia in early 2018".

Universal Flu Vaccine In The Works
Second, because flu viruses are constantly changing, vaccines are updated annually to keep up with the changing viruses. One is FLUCELVAX, and is grown in canine kidney cells, and the second, Flublok, is grown in insect cells.

Instead of being available in December, it will ship early next year, the company told CNN Tech.

The downside is that during all this time, there are many technological companies that have shown their novelties in the segment of smart loudspeakers.

It's unclear why the product has been delayed, but it will miss the holiday rush. Apple Inc however, has made a decision to evade this season and wait till early next year to launch its much awaited foray into the smart speaker industry. Even if the majority of Echo or Google Home users own an iPhone, it is highly likely that they're talking to Alexa or Google Assistant more than Siri. This year it has 27 million devices in homes of the USA citizens.

The Apple HomePod will lose a significant number of potential sales because of the delay, but being absent for one holiday season might not matter in the long run for Apple.
