Shootout in Delhi's Dwarka, five criminals arrested

A brief encounter broke out between criminals and the Punjab Police

Five suspected criminals were arrested following a brief encounter with police near the Dwarka Mor Metro station in southwest Delhi on Tuesday, a spokesperson said. Five people were apprehended in a shootout with Delhi and Punjab police at Dwarka Mor Metro Pillar 768.

The operation against the suspected criminals was initiated by the Punjab Police who approached their counterparts in Delhi on Tuesday morning after they received a tip-off about the presence of the criminals at the building.

According to the Newspaper, . India TVsaid the firing started after the suspected gang of carjackers refused to surrender.

In another incident a few days back, Delhi Police had arrested two men and seized from them a whopping 1,300 live cartridges, in what was the biggest ammunition seizure so far this year.
