Yemen rebel leader to Saudis: Let's 'turn the page'

Citing the restricted access to his country, Saleh said Saturday in a televised address on Yemen Today TV that he is open to talks with the Saudi-led coalition.

The two groups have been fighting the government of current President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, who is backed by the Saudi-led coalition, for almost three years.

The remarks came after Saleh supporters battled Houthi fighters for a fourth day in the capital Sana'a as the two sides traded blame for a rift between allies that could affect the course of a fight against the invading Saudi regime.

Saleh's statements were welcomed by the Saudi coalition, which said it was "confident of the will of the leaders and sons" of Saleh's General People's Congress (GPC) party to return to the Arab fold.

Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi said all those who have identified a clear position in support of the popular uprising aimed at ending the coup and the restoration of the state "will all be partners in the present and future of Yemen".

Diab says the Saudi-coalition forces are not too far from the capital, and the Houthis have become widely despised due to shortages of food, water, medicine and money.

"It is not unusual or surprising that Saleh turns his back on a partnership he never believed in", the group's political bureau said in a statement.

JSO officer taunts convicted shooter during sentencing
Rojas doesn't understand what the rest of his life means", Judge James Daniel said Wednesday, the Times-Union reports. The incident happened when the undercover officer was driving his 14-year-old son to school last year.

The coalition has been fighting to defeat the Iran-backed Houthis along with Mr Saleh's forces in Yemen since March 2015. There has been no official word on casualties but the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said that dozens were killed and hundreds were wounded in the fighting.

Both sides reported that at least sixteen people have been killed in the fighting since Wednesday.

He told Yemenis all across the country that if they support him, "to defend the nation, the republic and the revolution".

But the head of the Houthis' Ansarullah group warned that the biggest victor from what he described as Saleh's "sedition" was the Saudi-led coalition.

The coalition has also been accused of committing war crimes through indiscriminate attacks on residential areas in cities controlled by the rebel forces.

"I appeal to the leader Saleh to show more wisdom and maturity. and not to heed incitement calls", Abdel-Malek al-Houthi said in a speech on the group's Al-Masirah TV, adding that his group was ready to sit down for arbitration and abide by any ruling.

Saudi Arabia has been locked in a fight with the Houthi rebels since it joined the Yemen war in 2015.
