They say former government minister and air forces commander Ahmed Shafiq landed in Cairo on Saturday amid tightened security.
According to information by sources at Cairo's International Airport, when Shafiq's plane landed almost 50 family members and his loyalists met him at the airport.
In the most recent statement, she detailed the circumstances that preceded his arrival to Cairo.
Shafik's daughter May Shafik, told Reuters that authorities had come for him at his home and sent him to Cairo.
Adly also said in her post that all lines of communication with Shafik had been shut down since Friday.
Last week, Shafiq announced from the UAE that he would return to Egypt to run for president.
Shafik's family and lawyer said earlier they had lost contact with him after what they called his deportation from the United Arab Emirates to Cairo on Saturday, days after announcing his intention to run for president of Egypt next year.
The family and lawyer said they planned to file complaints with the prosecutor's office around Shafiq's whereabouts.
Adly did not say whether Shafik was free to leave the hotel, which she did not identify by name. Sisi's supporters see him as key to stability following the upheaval that followed the 2011 Egyptian revolt that toppled president Hosni Mubarak.

Kyoto, Osaka, Yokohoma and Kyoto are among the Japanese targets, while Seoul, Degu and Jongwon in South Korea are also identified. North Korea joins Iran, Sudan, and Syria - the only countries designated by the U.S.as state sponsors of terrorism.
"We did not arrest him and we did not receive any requests from the prosecution to arrest him or bring him back". The UAE denied this and accused him of ingratitude after it has given him a home since 2012.
After losing the closely contested 2012 election to Mohamed Morsi, Shafik fled to the UAE.
Earlier this year, he brushed off widespread public criticism and ratified an agreement that cedes sovereignty over two uninhabited Red Sea islands to Saudi Arabia.
On Friday, Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said he sees no legal restrictions that could prevent Shafik from running in next year's elections against Sisi.
Shafiq, a former government minister and air force commander, announced last week he plans to run for president in 2018.
It is the chief prosecutor's prerogative to investigate the complaint and, depending on his decision, refer Shafiq to trial. He has also been accused of "destabilizing" Egypt.
One Egyptian judicial source said on Saturday Shafiq did not face any criminal cases in Egypt.
Charges were laid down against him, but he was acquitted of some, while the others were dropped.
But his government is fighting a stubborn Islamist militant insurgency in the Sinai region and has also enacted painful austerity reforms over the previous year to revive the economy but that critics say have dented his popularity.
