Former backing singer SuRie to sing for UK at Eurovision

Singer and actress SuRie has been chosen to represent the United Kingdom at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

SuRie - who was triumphant at the Eurovision: You Decide competition on Wednesday night - is pally with the Grammy award winning singer.

Speaking at the winners" press conference in Brighton, SuRie - real name Susanna Marie - revealed: "Sam Smith and I are from the same town.

She's a graduate from the Royal Academy of Music and has sung backing vocals for Will Young and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

Although she's a seasoned song writer herself, this track is written by Nicole Blair, Gil Lewis and Sean Hargreaves.
