Wales not engaging in verbal battle with England ahead of Twickenham clash

Wales unchanged for Twickenham challenge

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones says he is not concerned by England coach Eddie Jones' comments about his behaviour and the "bottle" of fly-half Rhys Patchell.

Wales coach Warren Gatland will no doubt use Eddie Jones' attack on his team as extra motivation for this weekend's test.

Asked if he took any offence, Jones said: "No not at all". I'll have to have a chat with uncle Eddie after the game.

The former Australia chief lodged a complaint about the Ospreys lock's conduct in last weekend's win against Scotland with World Rugby, taking issue with Jones' questioning of Peter Horne's late try when Finn Russell was preparing to take the conversion.

But Jones said Joseph's sheer speed would provide Patchell with a tougher test.

"JJ's got great experience, he's fast, a great defensive player", Jones insisted of the 36-times capped Bath centre.

"Patchell is a young guy, he's inexperienced and he's their third- choice 10", said Jones. There's more density around the ball.

I'd imagine that when (Wales captain) Alun Wyn Jones and the guys go down for breakfast on Saturday morning, they'll be looking at him thinking: "'can this kid handle the pressure today?' It's a big ask".

"I don't know if there's an element of deflection or anything like that, but, ultimately, as players, we are inside the tent and we have got to deal with that happens between the white lines". Irrelevant of how much experience you have or haven't got, those questions are going to be asked.

Strider, and she was moved to a different job within the campaign, reporting directly to Mike Henry, the deputy campaign manager. Clinton got to where she needed (and wanted) to be on the Burns Strider issue.

I've very grateful that Eddie has flagged that up with World Rugby.

Patchell, McBryde said, "is surrounded by a number of players from his (Scarlets) region and that cohesion it brings, that familiarity, will hopefully stand up under the pressure of worldwide rugby".

"We'll find out on Saturday".

"George has played a lot of test rugby [41 caps] and he's got Owen next to him who's played 54 tests", said Jones, who has made two changes, with Jonathan Joseph preferred at outside centre and Danny Care promoted for the injured Ben Youngs. "When he tried to stop the referee from allowing the kick at goal - we can't have that in the game", he said.

"Richard Wigglesworth has been magnificent - truly professional", added Jones.

He has been given his chance in the absence of the injured Dan Biggar and Rhys Priestland and is one of seven players in Warren Gatland's team who have never played an global at Twickenham.

O'Keefe reviewed and eventually disallowed an Australian try after Farrell's constant intervention and, if anything, that incident was arguably worse than what Jones is accusing the Welsh captain of - even if the right decision was reached in the end.

"The 82,000 it's like our 24th man", Jones said.

"Wales played really well against Scotland but it's going to be different on Saturday - they had no expectation on them last Saturday but this week they come full of expectation".
