Stormy's Gambit: Daniels Offers To Return Hush Money To End Silence

Stormy Daniels

Stormy Daniels has offered to give back a $130,000 fee paid to her by Donald Trump's personal lawyer in return for her silence about her alleged affair with the future United States president.

The actress and director on Monday sent a letter to Cohen in which she offered to wire the money to any account chosen by the president, according to the New York Times.

A remittance, her lawyers propose, would invalidate the "hush agreement" she reached with Trump attorney Michael Cohen, permitting her to speak publicly about her relationship with the president.

I'm confident a GoFundMe campaign to raise a 130K for Daniels-I'm guessing she spent the money Cohen paid her in October-would be a success.

Lawyers for President Donald Trump are attempting to stop Stormy Daniels interview from airing on 60 Minutes.

In the 1971 Pentagon Papers case, the Supreme Court ruled that the New York Times and The Washington Post could not be stopped from publishing documents related to USA military actions in Vietnam, despite the government's argument that such reporting would endanger national security.

Adult film star claiming the nondisclosure agreement she signed isn't valid because it lacks President Trump's signature.

A consortium of 31 banks led by ICICI bank has loaned close to Rs 5,200 crore to Choksi's Gitanjali Group . These amounts are then credited to the LoU issuing bank's Nostro accounts.

If Cohen were to accept the deal, Daniels could "speak openly and freely about her prior relationship with the President and the attempts to silence her", the letter says.

Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, sued Trump last week in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming their $130,000 "hush-money" contract is invalid because Trump did not sign it. Although a judge might rule that Daniels must stay quiet until the lawsuit reaches a conclusion, an injunction would not undo the interview she gave last week or compel CBS to pretend it didn't happen.

Fox News hosts Dana Perino and Brian Kilmeade are not impressed with cable news rival CNN's coverage of the Stormy Daniels scandal, as the two joked that journalists reporting on the pornstar's alleged affair are asking themselves "why" they even went to "journalism school".

The offer of payment to Trump represents a shift by Avenatti, who said last week, "If she is ordered to return the money in order to invalidate the agreement, she will strongly consider doing so".

In further demands, the letter seeks an agreement that neither Mr Trump nor the shell company Mr Cohen used to pay Ms Clifford would block the broadcast of an interview that the actress recently recorded with the 60 Minutes programme.

The White House and Cohen have denied the affair ever took place.
