John Bailey, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, is under investigation for allegations of sexual harassment, according to an exclusive Variety report published Friday.
The Academy started looking into Bailey after receiving three claims against him. "We will not comment further on such matters until the full review is completed", the statement read.
Tom McLean has been writing for years about animation from a secret base in Los Angeles.
The investigation is being tasked by casting director and producer, David Rubin who leads the Academy subcommittee reviewing the allegations. Weinstein, through his representative, has denied all allegations of nonconsensual sex.
In December, the Academy adopted a code of conduct for its members.

The #metoo movement has followed revelations from more than 70 women who have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct, including rape. The Academy also now has a task force that will determine how to respond to allegations, formed shortly after the group voted in October to expel Weinstein from its ranks.
Bailey, previously a board member representing the cinematographers branch, was considered a surprise choice to succeed former president Cheryl Boone Isaacs, who had been the first African-American to serve in the role.
Bailey, 75, is in his first year as President of The Academy.
Lois Burwell is The Academy's vice president and would therefore be the next in line for the President position. A member of Board of Governors since 1980s, Bailey is also known for his work as a historian, with a keen interest in building museum with which Academy wants to protect Hollywood's cinematic legacy.
Bailey told the annual luncheon for Oscar nominees in February that the 90-year-old Academy was reinventing itself with programs committed to inclusion and diversity.
