ABC renews highly rated 'Roseanne' reboot

So huge in fact that less than 72 hours after the show's first episode in nearly 11 years, the family sitcom has already been picked up for another season.

In making the announcement, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said, "We're thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes". "Roseanne" made a splash on its return ratings-wise, reaching about 18.2 million viewers on Tuesday night ― the highest rated comedy telecast in three and a half years, according to Deadline. In Cincinnati, "60 Minutes" on WKRC-TV (Channel 12) drew a 20.2 rating and 32 percent audience share -more than double the combined viewership for network programs on Channels 5, 9 and 19 (9.25 rating). ABC network has renewed the sitcom for a second season.

After a 21 year absence, Roseanne returned to the airways on ABC with the original cast and shattered the season ratings.

The news comes as little surprise after the premiere of the new, 10th season bowed Tuesday to massive ratings, besting even the original series finale almost 20 years ago.

Sources say Season 11 will have 13 episodes versus this year's nine.

Congress Approves $1.3 Trillion Spending Bill, Averting a Shutdown
He added that the border wall, which he said was "desperately needed for our National Defense" is not fully funded. He called on Congress to get rid of the filibuster rule so the Senate could pass a budget with a simple majority.

The actress then admitted to having a videotape of her interviewing the president and director Michael Moore on her former talk show, but revealed that she originally thought Trump was a "populist". He said, 'Donald, I called just to say hello, and to tell you: Did you see Roseanne's ratings?' I said, 'Mark, how big were they?' They were unbelievable!

After the wild success of the first episode, Trump personally called Barr, one of the most outspoken conservatives in Hollywood, which she called "very sweet".

The revival has also drawn critical raves, with The New York Times calling it "feisty and funny" and The Wall Street Journal writing that "Roseanne" is "sparkling". "#DAYENU", Roseanne Barr, the show's star, tweeted.

This week marked the controversial reboot of the popular 1980s and 90s sitcom Roseanne, with Roseanne Barr portraying the show's main character as a supporter of Donald Trump (just as Roseanne is in real life).
