In terms of pricing, Google Home and Google Home Mini speakers will be launched at Rs 9,999 and Rs 4,499 respectively. The Google Home and Home Mini speakers are controlled by Google Assistant that recently was updated to help Hindi voice orders. Google is most likely expected to sell its gadgets online but the fact that Redington India is involved in this launch makes it clear that both the smart speakers will be available for purchase in at retail stores across India as well.

In an interview with Variety, Google vice president Rishi Chandra, who oversees Google's smart home products, said that the company having its own smart display coexist with similar third-party products would be a similar strategy as with its current smart home speakers.

Smart speakers like the Amazon Echo and Google Home always listen to everything we say; but until they hear trigger phrases like "Hey Google", they aren't supposed to record or respond, preserving our sense of privacy.

The April 2018 security patch should be rolling out soon, so be sure to keep an eye out for an incoming update. In the U.S., the Google Home costs 130 Dollars which is equivalent to Rs. 8,400 and the Google Home Mini costs around 50 USD which is around Rs. 3,400.

The Home Mini, on the other hand, was launched in October 2017 alongside the Home Max.

Considering how Android phone makers like OnePlus and Xiaomi are killing it in India with relatively affordable premium devices like the OnePlus 5T and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, it makes a lot of sense for Google make a move there with its hardware. While Google's Assistant is called Google Assistant, Amazon calls its AI Alexa.

Previously, Google announced the Android One, which was basically very cheap and had very low-end specs, it was made to promote people to buy smartphones and encourage the growth of smartphones.

The tech giant-and world's largest advertising platform-also outlined how a smart-home system with a camera could potentially recognize objects in one's home, like a basketball or guitar, and serve up a related advertisement, in a separate 2015 patent filing.
