Nawaz, Maryam leave for London Wednesday

Former PM Nawaz and Maryam outside the accountability court in Islamabad

It made sense for a lawyer or an expert in legal matters to comment on judicial verdicts, the judge added.

A three-judge full bench headed by Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi and comprising Justice Atir Mahmood and Justice Masood Jahangir resumed hearing of 27 miscellaneous contempt petitions against the ruling party leaders for making anti-judiciary remarks.

He said the bench also dismissed Mr. Sharif's petition challenging the jurisdiction of the court in this matter.

The petitioner said PEMRA did not block these hateful and ridiculing remarks passed against the judiciary.

When the court asked the regulatory body why it had dismissed the petitions, Pemra's counsel Salman Akram Raja said the allegations against the government agency were baseless. He pointed out that Article 68 even prevented Parliament from criticising the judiciary and its decisions.

The court placed a 15-day ban on speeches deemed to be contemptuous and directed Pemra to strictly monitor the content and ensure that no television channel should broadcast contemptuous speeches.

Spieth is the only player to finish in the top five at the Masters in four of his first five appearances. Webb Simpson, the 2012 US Open victor , made back-to-back eagles at the seventh and par-5 eighth.

The petitioners pleaded with the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Sharif and his daughter and restrain them from maligning the judiciary.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on today (Apr. 17) said the court should make clear what "anti-judiciary" means, adding that everyone has the right to dissent.

Whereas, Article 19 says every citizen shall have the right to freedom of speech and expression, and there shall be freedom of the press, subject to any reasonable restrictions imposed by law in the interest of the glory of Islam or the integrity, security or defence of Pakistan or any part thereof, friendly relations with foreign states, public order, decency or morality, or in relation to contempt of court, or incitement to an offence.

Maryam Nawaz said those who had been leaving PML-N were not taking away party's vote bank with them.

The former PM was addressing a "Vote Ko Izzat Do" seminar in Islamabad on Monday. He said in the past, the elected governments had taken historical decisions, adding decision of atomic explosions was also taken by a civilian government.
