Embattled Missouri Gov. Greitens Faces Second Felony Charge

Greitens indicted, again; 2 counts of felony charge relating to illegally obtaining fundraising list

He was indicted February 22 in a separate case for allegedly photographing a partially nude woman without her consent and making the image accessible by computer.

Greitens raised almost $2 million for his gubernatorial run after he obtained a list of top donors to The Mission Continues without permission from the St. Louis-based charity he founded in 2007.

Greitens is accused of directing someone who the prosecution calls K.T.to send a list of Mission Continues donors to his campaign fundraiser. She testified that Greitens restrained, slapped, grabbed, shoved and threatened her during a series of sexual encounters that at times left her crying and afraid.

Greitens denied any wrongdoing in a Friday night statement.

"Her original case is falling apart - so today, she's brought a new one", Greitens wrote in a Facebook post. "By now, everyone knows what this is: this prosecutor will use any charge she can to smear me".

The new, milquetoast felony charge may smooth the road for Missouri lawmakers to finally chuck Greitens out of office, as it offers a safe-for-work narrative rationale for why the governor must go. That office had to move quickly because the statute of limitations was approaching. Even though he denied the allegations, " for failing to record that his campaign had, in fact, acquired the charity donor list, Greitens made a decision to pay for a nice in April of a 12 months. It doesn't identify the fundraiser.

Greitens and K.T. allegedly disclosed the donor list to the fundraiser for the goal of obtaining $500 or more.

Syria strikes for honour of global community: French President Emmanuel Macron
He said: "I will only support an enlargement when there is first a deepening and a reform of our Europe". France and Germany aim to agree on proposals for European Union reforms by June.

These are serious charges-and an important reminder that no one is above the law in Missouri. Hawley said his office found evidence that Greitens transmitted that list without permission in violation of the law.

Separately, a special House investigatory committee is to recommend whether to pursue impeachment proceedings against Greitens.

According to a probable cause statement, Greitens instructed the April 22, 2015, disclosure of a donor list owned by the Mission Continues, a nonprofit Greitens founded, without the charity's permission. The campaign amended its finance reports to show a $600 in-kind donation received byrom former campaign manager Danny Laub.

"Now he's being accused of stealing an email list from an organization he built", Dowd askwd in a statement. Give me a break.

The charge intensifies the feud between Greitens and Gardner. "This prosecutor can come after me with everything she's got, but as all faithful people know: in time comes the truth". His attorneys, in court hearings and filings, have painted a picture of an incompetent prosecutor who rather than working with police to investigate Greitens hired a private investigator who bungled the investigation, hid evidence and lied to the court. The governor has steadfastly refused to resign. He has been charged with felony invasion of privacy over the photo, but not with any crimes of violence.

Hawley's Tuesday news conference prompted House Speaker Todd Richardson and Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard to call for Greitens' resignation. Hawley is now running to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, have questioned why Hawley waited so long to act. Greitens founded the charity to support military veterans as they readjust to civilian life.

The first-term governor received 31 percent approval among Missourians who did not cite a party preference.
