Amy Adam is in trouble in this teaser for HBO's Sharp Objects

The Amy Adams vehicle adapted from the Gillian Flynn book of the same name premieres in July

Jean-Marc Vallée ("Big Little Lies") is directing and producing with Jason Blum ("Get Out"), Adams and Flynn, so there's no shortage of reasons to give this show a shot.

The show also stars Chris Messina, Patricia Clarkson, Taylor John Smith, Eliza Scanlen, Elizabeth Perkins, Matt Craven, and Will Chase.

Sharp Object's first trailer is creepy, to say the least. And Sharp Objects promises to be equally unsettling, telling the story of a reporter who returns to her small hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Combine those scares with what is undoubtedly going to feature a lot of emotionally challenging moments based on an already strong story and you have the recipe for success yet again for HBO. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims-a bit too strongly. Preaker is also dealing with mental-health issues of her own; prior to investigating the murders, she had been hospitalized for self-harm after hallucinating words on her skin, then cutting them in.

As Camille begins her investigation, we see her at a funeral, falling over in some sort of woods and there's a dollhouse, which is always a bad sign when there's mention of ghosts.

Nawaz, Maryam leave for London Wednesday
It made sense for a lawyer or an expert in legal matters to comment on judicial verdicts, the judge added. He pointed out that Article 68 even prevented Parliament from criticising the judiciary and its decisions.

This is the third Gillian Flynn book to be adapted to the screen.

After the successful adaptation of her novel Gone Girl, another of Gillian Flynn's books has been picked up for cinematic adaptation. Much like Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects has been turned into a limited eight-episode drama.

The Gone Girl vibes in this series aren't coincidental.

Sharp Objects is set to premiere on HBO in July.
