Donation to help IL with synthetic marijuana outbreak

4th synthetic marijuana-related death reported in Illinois

Officials in several states have raised alarm over a recent outbreak of illness caused by brodifacoum, a lethal blood thinner used in rat poison, which was in the synthetic ganja that victims consumed.

A woman in her 30s died in IL as a result of smoking synthetic marijuana, the state's public health department announced on Tuesday.

"We continue to see new cases of individuals experiencing severe bleeding after using synthetic cannabinoids", Nirav Shah, the state's health director, said in a statement.

Porsche GT3 RS sets sub-seven minute Nürburgring benchmark
The GT3 RS is on sale in Australia from $416,500, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the final quarter of this year. Through the fast corners and on the brakes in particular, the GT3 RS is unbelievably close to our racing auto GT3 R.

Two men, one in his 20's and another in his 40's, have also died in Central Illinois. More than 450 people went to a hospital after taking synthetic cannabinoids between January 2010 and November 2015, according to CDC data.

Those who have become sick have reported coughing up blood, severe bloody noses and internal bleeding. Often the chemical ingredients, which are mixed with plant materials, changed to dodge certain laws, resulting in unpredictable, unsafe and deadly results. "If you have purchased any of this product (e.g., K2, spice, and synthetic marijuana) since March 1, 2018, do not use it", the agency's website states. On Monday, officials announced a donation of almost 800,000 vitamin K tablets by the Bausch Foundation, a philanthropic arm of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc.in Laval, Quebec. Treatment can include high doses of vitamin K, up to 30 tablets a day for up to six months, to fix the body's ability to form blood clots. But since synthetic marijuana is not regulated and people don't know what chemicals may be in them, officials urge people not to use them, ever.
