Jared Leto Gets His Own Joker Movie for DC and Warner Bros

Jared Leto’s Joker Is Getting His Own Movie (EXCLUSIVE)

Margot Robbie is getting her own Harley Quinn "girl gang" movie, and now Leto has his own Joker movie. The plan is for Warner Bros.to build out the world that it created with Suicide Squad.

Leto could reportedly star and executive produce an untitled standalone film from Warner Bros. about the Joker, which could pave the way for future movies branching from Suicide Squad, according to Variety on Tuesday.

Warner Bros.is working on a standalone movie focusing on the 46-year-old actor's villainous character, Variety reports. After the movie came out, Leto spoke extensively about how many of his Joker scenes were cut from the film.

India registers whopping Q4 FY18 growth rate
The government spending-linked public administration segment's growth rose to 13.3 percent from 7.7 percent in December quarter. The country's economic growth was marginally higher at 6.9 per cent in 2016.

The current list of announced projects on the DC Comics slate of movies at Warner Bros is hefty, and there are now four Joker-family movies announced, with Suicide Squad 2 as the fourth which is still evidently on the way. It's always been known that The Hangover's Todd Phillips is directing an origin movie of the Clown Prince of Crime produced by Martin Scorsese and reportedly starring Joaquin Phoenix. This film will be produced under a new banner that will focus on origin stories while coexisting alongside the ongoing DC Cinematic Universe.

This Joker standalone is now searching for a writer, and it's not clear when it would start filming.

Are you excited to see more of Jared Leto's Joker in his own movie? This means that the critically maligned "Suicide Squad" will now have roughly three spinoffs in addition to a planned "Wonder Woman" sequel, an "Aquaman" standalone film, a "Suicide Squad" sequel and the upcoming introduction of "Shazam".
