Park wins Women's PGA; Henderson finishes tied for sixth

Lydia Ko shot eight birdies to get back in contention at the Women's PGA Championship

A week after claiming her first LPGA title at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, Hataoka couldn't break through Sunday to join Hisako Higuchi as the only players from Japan to win a women's major, but Hataoka made some history trying at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Hataoka was eliminated on the first hole with a par while the two South Koreans birdied.

Ryu started the day in the lead and stumbled out of the gate with a double bogey on the second hole, dropping her score to nine under par.

Sung Hyun Park raised her arms and placed her hands on her head before hugging her caddie and wiping away tears.

"Actually, this is my first time feeling this kind of emotion, being this emotional", said Park via an interpreter, admitting she was overwhelmed by happiness once victory was secured. "I think I lack that sense of tension". "All the hard work paid off and that's what made me cry".

Lydia Ko had the round of the morning wave with a 6-under, 66 to move from T86 into the top 10. At the 1961 U.S. Women's Open, Mickey Wright finished six shots ahead of Betsy Rawls. Ryu, who won last year's ANA Inspiration and the 2011 US Women's Open, finished with a half dozen birdies. Park left zero doubt that she would part of the four-person team with her win on Sunday.

Park just missed a birdie on that hole when her 20-footer hit the edge of the cup.

Ryu ended a almost year-long victory drought when she won the Meijer Classic two weeks ago, a result she achieved after a change in attitude. I just did 100-per cent effort every shot, every putt and still, you know, I like looking at the positive side.

Belgium v Tunisia 23 June 2018
Lukaku was forced off in the 59th minute due to an ankle ligament injury but Hazard praised the improvement shown by his teammate. Khazri and Dylan Broon scored for Tunisia but it was not enough as they were eliminated from the tournament.

Hataoka nearly pulled off the greatest final-round comeback in the history women's major championship golf. "I still can't believe I'm sitting here, next to this trophy".

Park, Ryu and Hataoka all ended the 72 holes at 10-under 278, though they each took a vastly different route to get there.

Park's ball landed on a big tuft of grass. She went right at the pin on the par-3 sixth off the tee and then made about a two-foot putt.

In contrast Ryu, the leader at the start of the day, found the water on the par three 17th and eventually holed out for a double bogey, which saw her lead come to an end.

"I was a little anxious, but even though it was a tough week, I feel like I played really well".

"Winning this tournament is going to be huge because I never really dreamed about becoming a Grand Slammer", she said. "I did what I'd do with a bunker shot".
